Lithuanian Passport

The new passport is designed to comply with the EU requirements and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommendations. The passport contains 32 numbered pages plus a polycarbonate personal identification page with data, photo and signature engraved by laser engravers.

Passport contains texts in the Lithuanian, English and French languages.

PASSPORT 2008

Passport is a document issued to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, confirming personal identity and is intended for going abroad.

Passports of the Republic of Lithuania are valid from the date of issue for 10 years for adult citizens and persons over 16 years, 5 years for persons between 5 and 16 years of age, 2 years for persons below the age of 5 years. For 12 months for persons, when it is temporalily unavailable to read any citizen fingerprints.

Passports issued before 2 January 2008 will remain valid until their expiration date.

Passports can be issued to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania residing abroad.

The design, format and languages used follow the provisions laid down in the Resolution of the representatives of the Governments of the Member States, meeting within the Council concerning the introduction of a passport of uniform pattern (resolutions of 23 June 1981, 23 June 1982, 14 July 1986, 10 July 1995, 8 June 2004).

The main distinctive feature of the new passport – the burgundy red colour of its cover (all former generations had the green cover). Visa pages of the passport depict national and ethnic heritage of Lithuania.

The passport contains 32 numbered pages plus a polycarbonate datapage with laser engraved personal data, face image and signature.

The Lithuanian passport incorporate a number of modern security features against counterfeit, forgery, and measures to speed up the process of verification.

E-PASSPORT 2006

28 August, 2006 marks the beginning of electronic personalisation of biometric personal data into the Passports of the Republic of Lithuania

Sticker with electronic medium

A sticker with electronic medium (eSticker) contains a contactless integrated circuit with antenna associated to it. Data is personalized into an electronic medium during the process of Passport personalization.
Data are protected by implementing the Passive Authentication and Basic Access Control mechanism. The electronic medium is personalized with a biometric identifier – a digital facial image and other relevant Passport data.

E-Paso titulinis lapas

An eSticker is integrated into the title page (the reverse of data page). An eSticker contains security elements.

All eStickers are numbered.




On the Title page printed E-passport user guide:

"This passport contains sensitive electronics. For best performance please do not bend, perforate or expose to extreme temperatures or excess moisture."

Pasas

Passport is the document issued to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, confirming personal identity and is issued for going abroad.

Passport is issued for the Lithuanian citizens of any age by request and is issued for 10-year term for persons over 18 and for 5-year term for persons under 18.

Passport can be issued to citizens of the Republic of Lithuania constantly living abroad.
